The Kennedy Expressway, US-90/94, cuts right across here now.  The police statue after being attacked a couple of times is now on the safe grounds of the police academy.

Postcard of 1907 notes the historical significance and every year, May Day is commemorated near where statue was in Chicago.


My main image has planted in protest BLACK FLAGS, later removed.  The Anarchist history of May Day.

 Before the Chicago recognition,  Matehuala, S.L.P., Mexico had put up this grander monument in a central park in 1925.

 

On the opposite side, the dedication is to those killed at the hands of the "capitalist hyenas."
